Biddestone Cricket Club - The Committee

We have a large number of people who volunteer to keep the club running successfully and moving it forward.  The club is run primarily by an elected Committee, and supported by a wider Management Team who work on strategies and initiatives that the Committee define.

This page provides you with information on the Committee and what their responsibilities are. To read about the non-Committee Officers click here.  To put names to faces and find contact information click here.

Chairman: Hwyel Evans

- Preside over Committee Meetings
- Oversee the running of the Club
- Lead the Management team with a vision for the future
- Act as Club representative externally
- Chair all AGM's, EGM's, Management meetings
- Chair any appeals meetings which arise from governance or disciplinary matters
- Act as one of the Bank signatories

Vice Chairman: Mike Chrystal

- Assist the Chairman with leading the Club to meet it's vision
- Attend Committee meetings
- Chair meetings of the Club and to co-ordinate all club activities in the absence of the Chairman
- Assist the Chairman to motivate others in a co-ordinated and progressive way
- Deputise in the Chairmans absence to represent the Club on formal occasions and to external bodies (eg County Board, ECB)
- Manage ad-hoc projects at the request of the Chairman
- Act as one of the Bank signatories

Secretary: Richard Panes

- Send out and receive the official Club correspondence
- Attend Committee meetings
- Taking and production of notes/minutes of Committee meetings and the AGM
- Take the lead on Club membership and administration
- Report to the Committee on ECB guidance and policies
- Provide the Treasurer with occasional reports confirming participation by players and their registration status

Treasurer: Ryan Berry

- Maintain accurate and up to date financial records fro the Club
- Attend Committee meetings
- Ensure that funds are spent appropriately
- Provide a financial position report to the Committee at each meeting
- Prepare draft annual accounts for submission to the auditor/independent examiner
- Present the audited accounts to the AGM
- Liaise with independent audit to audit bar stock
- Establish and maintain Club bank accounts and banking arrangements
- Deposit all fess, subscriptions and funds into the Club account
- Pay any bills incurred
- Review 3rd party contracts to ensure cost effectiveness and appropriateness of the Terms and Conditions
- Prepare the annual budget for approval by the Committee before the beginning of the new financial year
- Prepare budgets for specific projects and for fundraising
- Act as one of the Bank signatories
